The new you...

I was working and had to run upstairs for a minute and when I walked up, I could hear meditation music playing. I went over and saw my husband sitting on the couch reading a book written by one of our favorite Pastor. It hit me right in the heart. My husband is a tattooed, bearded guy who loves heavy metal music, plays drums and who never enjoyed reading a book. I told him before that he is not the man I married. He is a better version of that man. When you accept Jesus as your one and only savior and begin your walk with God, you will change. God will replace your existing heart with a new one. You will change in ways you never expected you could. You will change without even realizing it. You'll notice your new found love for people who you thought you could never love. You will have more patience for others. You will find yourself wanting to help people in need. You will forgive others who do you wrong and you will pray for them. You'll find yourself wanting to read the bible and know more about God. You'll listen to worship music and actually enjoy it. You will be that person that goes to church and lift your hands up in the air and worship our Heavenly Father. Little by little you will become more like Jesus. That's the Holy Spirit living in you. Making you new in Christ. The same Holy Spirit that lived in Jesus is living in you. How amazing is that?

Embrace the new you because that new version of you is the light in this dark world. People will notice how different you are and will see the Glory of God within you. I use to be this moody person who would rage at anything that did not go my way. I've changed. I have more patience than I ever did. I use to look at homeless people and judge them because I always thought it was as simple as go get a job. Now I find myself driving to the bank because I feel love and compassion for them and the will to help out. I did not change on my own. My husband did not change on his own. We changed because of the love Jesus has for us. Because of the Holy Spirit living in us. Because of the grace of God. God bless you, Nancy xo
