Misunderstanding of God...

For most of my life, I actually believed I would go to hell because I had tattoos. And I'm sure there's many out there who believe the same due to what they heard others say about God. And since this is what I was believing, I made a joke out of hell thinking it would be a big reunion party where I would be reunited with all my friends. But the reality is that hell is not a big family reunion, there will be no joy, peace, no fun, no love ect. In fact, its the absolute absence of God for eternity! But that's for another blog. So back to tattoos. Will you go to hell because you have tattoos? No! Absolutely not! In fact, Jesus tells us "Believe in me, for I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father expect through me". John 14:6 . So why do people believe that tattoos will send them directly to hell? Because they see things on Facebook being shared telling you that you will and because they have a misunderstanding of who God is. Like I did for my whole life. Even back in the day when I was going to church, I did not know God at all! I thought Jesus had died for us and that was it. But God is bigger than that! It is so hard for us humans, to wrap our mind around how big God actual is because we are limited. But He is not. God is a good God! And He wants a relationship with ALL of us! Whether you have tattoos or not. He wants you to know exactly who He is and just how much He actually loves you! Don't let others opinion paint a portrait of who God isn't. Find out for yourself by inviting Him into your life. Get to know Him through prayers and reading His Word and building a relationship by spending time with Him. And to my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, please be careful on what you share on Facebook or speak out loud about God. Your very words or posts could be what brings people to Jesus or pushes them further away from Him. God bless Nancy xo
